    Detailed Description

    Position Summary

    The Senior Finance Analyst will play a key role in driving financial performance and cost transparency for the manufacturing facility in Ironton, Ohio. This position is primarily responsible for analyzing plant cost data, supporting operational forecasting, and delivering actionable insights that enhance decision-making across the plant leadership team.

    Working closely with the Plant Controller and Operations Management, the Senior Finance Analyst will contribute to improved reporting accuracy, cost optimization initiatives, and overall financial discipline within plant operations. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, and corporate finance teams.


    Key Responsibilities

    Cost & Operational Financial Analysis

    • Analyze and report on key plant operating metrics, including production variances, earned labor hours, and other critical performance indicators.

    • Investigate cost drivers and identify trends impacting manufacturing efficiency and profitability.

    Forecasting & Performance Monitoring

    • Partner with the Plant Controller to prepare monthly forecasts and monitor plant results against expectations.

    • Support continuous improvement in forecasting processes and reporting accuracy.

    Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Oversight

    • Maintain detailed tracking of capital spending and ensure alignment with approved budgets.

    • Provide visibility into CAPEX performance and spending trends.

    Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

    • Support month-end close activities through journal entries, variance analysis, and standard reporting updates.

    • Ensure timely and accurate financial documentation for plant reporting needs.

    Collaboration & Cost System Integrity

    • Work closely with the local engineering team to validate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).

    • Participate in annual standard cost updates and periodic cost restatement processes.

    Compliance, Controls & Audit Support

    • Assist in ensuring compliance with SOX internal control requirements.

    • Support annual physical inventory processes and contribute to periodic financial audits.

    Additional Support

    • Participate in special projects and additional plant finance initiatives as required.


    Required Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or plant finance within a manufacturing environment.

    • Strong proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office tools, and financial software applications.

    • Experience working with standard costing within an ERP system.

    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.

    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

    • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    • Flexibility to work extended hours during peak reporting periods as needed.


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP and related accounting systems.

    • CPA or CMA certification is a plus, though not required.
